Yonis Aden

Yonis Aden is an IT professional and community-minded leader who has been studying Arabic in traditional learning settings for the past five years. Through his personal journey with language learning, he developed a strong passion for cultural connection, personal growth, and lifelong learning. His experiences in both educational and community spaces have inspired him to help others strengthen their relationship with the Arabic language in accessible and meaningful ways. Yonis is committed to creating supportive learning environments where students can reconnect with their cultural and linguistic roots while building confidence, consistency, and community through shared learning experiences.

Arabic Language Learning Program

Arabic Language Learning Program is a structured, community-based initiative that helps university students reconnect with their cultural and linguistic roots through accessible Arabic education. Designed for students navigating increasingly busy academic and professional lives, the program provides supportive learning experiences that strengthen Arabic literacy, comprehension, cultural connection, and confidence in engaging with the language in meaningful personal and spiritual contexts.

About this Project

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      The program runs over a 10–12 week academic term and combines structured Arabic lessons, literacy and comprehension activities, group learning, and community support. Participants develop foundational reading and understanding skills through accessible, beginner-friendly sessions designed for university students.

      Project Impact

      The program will strengthen participants’ Arabic literacy, cultural connection, and confidence in engaging with Arabic language content. By creating a supportive and flexible learning environment, it helps students maintain their heritage, deepen cultural understanding, and build lasting connections to language, identity, and community.

      Project Mission

      The mission of the Arabic Language Learning Program is to equip university students with foundational Arabic skills that deepen their connection to their cultural and linguistic heritage. Through engaging and accessible learning experiences, the program empowers students to confidently read, understand, and engage with Arabic in meaningful ways.
