Sylvie is a creative changemaker who is passionate about using art and storytelling to build sustainable, just futures. As co-founder of the Scarbrite Collective, she empowers youth in Scarborough, Ontario to use art as a tool for social and environmental change.
Scarborough HERstory Expressions
Scarborough HERstory Expressions: Malvern (SHE Malvern) is a mural art-making intensive for young women and non-binary youth ages 13 - 19 who live in the Scarborough community to develop their skills in mural-making, and project management. Over five in-person sessions held in August 2025, 10 participants will work with Scarbrite to co-create an indoor wall mural that reflects their own personal and collective experiences in the community and integrates community feedback.

How the project works
Over five in-person sessions in August 2025, 10 young women and non-binary youth will co-create a mural with Scarbrite, developing skills in mural-making, project management, and event planning. The program ends with a mural unveiling.
