Srijain Man Shrestha

Srijain Shrestha (he/him) was born in Kathmandu, Nepal and moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick at seven years old. He has been involved with Unlock Your Mind Mental Health Conference (UYMMHC) since 2022 as a Speakers Director and a Co-Chair. Srijain has a passion to help actualize equitable change for communities in Canada. He volunteers weekly at the Fredericton Everett Chalmers Hospital and believes in working to make local communities better each day.

Policy for People: The NB Youth Mental Health Funding Initiative mobilizes a youth-led advocacy network across New Brunswick to urge provincial decision-makers to commit stable, long-term funding for accessible and affordable mental health services through legislative engagement, establishment of university chapters, and mobilized advocacy.

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      We aim for 5 legislative meetings with MLAs or Ministry officials by August 2026, alongside 3 new fully ratified UYM chapters with student leads at educational institutions, plus 250+ documented outreach actions (emails/calls) from recruited members to MPs/MLAs beforehand.
