Siyuan Liu

I am a medical student with interests in both science and art, and I value making genuine connections with people. I want to become an aware and thoughtful doctor who understands how disease affects individuals and their lives beyond medicine alone. I am involved in environmental, inclusion, and international solidarity causes, and I care about raising awareness around disease and its broader social impact. As a young community leader, I believe in service, helping one another, and leading with empathy, humility, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.

Cups of care: A Pop‑Up Coffee Chat for Women’s Health

Cups of Care: A Pop‑Up Coffee Chat for Women’s Health is a community‑driven pop‑up café that blends coffee, conversation, and collaborative art to raise awareness and funds for ovarian and breast cancer. Through an accessible, welcoming space, attendees engage in meaningful dialogue, contribute to a collective mural, and support the creation of care packages for women in remission. The project aims to normalize conversations around women’s health while fostering empathy, connection, and tangible community impact.

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

Cups of Care will be planned over several months through partner outreach, promotion, and logistics coordination, followed by a one‑day pop‑up café event. The project concludes with fundraising distribution, creation of care packages, mural assembly, installation, and post‑event reflection and evaluation.

      Project Impact

Cups of Care creates impact by increasing awareness of ovarian and breast cancer, raising funds for care packages for women in remission, and fostering open, stigma‑free conversations around women’s health. Through a welcoming pop‑up café and collaborative art, the project builds community connection, provides tangible support to beneficiaries, and leaves a lasting symbol of empathy and collective care.
