BOLT Safety Society Documentary Tour and Workshops + The Hub Expansion
BOLT Safety Society is a ‘tech start-up meets non-profit preventing and responding to sexual violence, domestic abuse, and harassment. This project centers around a national tour taking the BSS team to different communities across Canada where they will deliver workshops, expand local resources for survivors on BOLT Safety's free Digital Platform, and host screening events for their documentary.

Communities Served
My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
The BOLT Safety Society team will be going on tour for just over a week to cities across Canada. However, project work will continue beyond the tour week over the next months. On tour, the BSS team aims to deliver at least 3-5 Project LyghtNyng workshops that provide resources, explain a culture of consent, and detail how attendees can help create safer and equitable communities themselves. Additionally, curated resources for survivors and allies will be added to BSS' Digital Platform for each city visited during the tour. On tour, the BSS team also aims to host in-person events where an original, BSS-produced documentary will be screened.
Project Impact
Project impact will be measured through the number of resources added to our Digital Platform, the number of workshops delivered, and the number of attendees at our events.
Project Mission
Create safer and more equitable communities. This is achieved through Project LyghtNyng workshops that nurture a culture of safety and equity, and the Digital Platform which provides tangible access to resources for survivors of violence, and their allies.
Project Team
Our team is comprised of young advocates, all passionate about safety and equity.
