Shaheer Ali
I am a young community leader dedicated to advancing Financial literacy and empowering underserved communities. Through my volunteer work in the community with multiple events and as the Co-Founder of Women’s Education Matters, I design initiatives that address systemic barriers faced by women, particularly in education and healthcare. My leadership is grounded in empathy, lived experience, and a commitment to amplifying voices that are often overlooked. I strive to bridge research, policy, and community action to build more inclusive and equitable systems.
Community Coins
Community Coins is a financial literacy initiative aimed at empowering underserved communities, including youth, adults, and newcomer immigrants. The project creates a safe, accessible space to learn essential skills such as budgeting, saving, investing, and recognizing financial scams. By addressing common barriers and risks, particularly for newcomers who may be more vulnerable to fraud, Community Coins fosters confidence, independence, and informed financial decision-making within the community.

How the project works
Community Coins will run over several weeks, combining financial literacy workshops with accessible wellness programming. Participants will engage in sessions on budgeting, saving, investing, and fraud prevention, alongside Pilates classes designed for women who face barriers to gym access, promoting both financial empowerment and overall well-being.
Project Impact
Community Coins empowers underserved communities by building financial confidence and reducing vulnerability to scams through practical education. By combining financial literacy with accessible Pilates sessions, the project also supports women’s physical and mental well-being. Together, these initiatives foster independence, resilience, and a stronger sense of community among participants.
Project Mission
Community Coins aims to empower underserved communities with the knowledge and tools needed to achieve financial independence and overall well-being. Its goals are to provide accessible financial education, protect individuals from scams, support informed decision-making, and create inclusive spaces, especially for women, through integrated wellness initiatives like Pilates that promote confidence, health, and resilience.
