Samorah Philippeau
As a certified Pilates instructor and wellness coach, I’m passionate about creating inclusive spaces where women of color feel seen, supported, and empowered through movement. After navigating my own healing journey, I launched Pilates-based wellness events that blend fitness, mental health, and sisterhood. I currently lead community events in Ottawa focused on physical and emotional well-being, and I’m committed to making wellness accessible for all. With this grant, I aim to expand my impact and continue offering restorative, culturally mindful spaces for women of color.

About this Project
Communities Served
My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
Over the span of the project, we plan to organize three events. Each will include a Pilates session and a workshop on a topic relevant to women of color, led by consultants or expert speakers in the fields of wellness, skincare, and mental health.
Project Impact
This project will create safe, inclusive spaces where women of color can prioritize their well-being through movement and meaningful dialogue. By addressing topics often overlooked in mainstream wellness—such as culturally relevant skincare, mental health, and holistic healing—it empowers participants to feel seen, supported, and equipped with tools to care for their minds and bodies.
Project Mission
Our mission is to empower women of color by creating inclusive wellness spaces that center their unique experiences. Through movement, education, and community connection, we aim to support physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
