My name is Sam Dow. I am the Operations Manager for the London Community Resource Centre, and I am a self-published writer. My project, the Community Mental Health Publication, brings together my passion for art and writing, with my experience in the not-for-profit sector.

Community Mental Health Publication

The Community Mental Health Publication Project showcases creative contributions from youth with lived experience of mental health challenges. Through art, writing, and visual media, this project offers a platform for self-expression, connection, and empowerment. It aims to reduce stigma, amplify youth voices, and foster community understanding.

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      Youth are invited to submit art, writing, and visual media over a three-month period. Submissions are curated into a printed and digital publication, followed by a community launch event. Workshops and peer support sessions run alongside to encourage participation and provide a safe, supportive creative environment.
