Robert Scott

I'm truly a jack of all trades, and a master of none, but I find that preferable to being an expert of one! I'm a registered professional forester by training where I have real influence over the environment around my community but starting the project with Fredericton Active Transportation Coalition brings my environmental passion and privilege to those who are truly the most stalwart champions of it - people that have no other options than to walk or ride from A to B. Through my time volunteering to teach every kind of person how to fix their bikes (or repair their clothes!), scavenging parts and reusing refuse, I'm trying to show how much value there is in what we take for granted

Fredericton Active Transportation Coalition

The Fredericton Active Transportation Coalition aims to advocate for those walking, biking, or generally getting around under their own power through a multi-faceted approach to mobility. We're hosting workshops, attending council meetings, providing insight into planning opportunities, and generally getting out and about helping folks maintain their modes of active transportation.

Being built!

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

The planning phase focuses on delivering efficient, targeted repair workshops to the people who would benefit most from the knowledge and access provided. Implementation then brings this vision to life through hands-on workshops paired with access to tools, creating real, practical support for people who lack the financial resources or physical space needed to maintain a safe and reliable ride.

      Project Impact

By providing knowledge and access to tools and parts, FAT-C improves transportation reliability for all demographics, but mainly those underserved by traditional retail spaces. Without reliable transportation the most marginalized in our communities have their world shrunk even more than it already is.

      Project Mission

The Fredericton Active Transportation Coalition provides access to tools and knowledge for those that would otherwise not have the opportunity to maintain their means of transportation.

      Project Team

Our team are first and foremost cyclists. We're sharing the road with everyone around us and aim to support the most vulnerable of road users
