I am a recent graduate from the University of Calgary and have always been interested in community development, especially for immigrants. As a first generation immigrant, I am passionate about easing the transition for others, and helping them be apart of their new communities.
Inclusive Ventures for Immigrant Youth (IVIY)
IVIY aims to help young immigrants find a place in their community through social interactions and play. By providing financial aid and opportunities for young newcomers to get involved in their communities, we aim to combat social isolation and create a more immersive and welcoming space for newcomers.

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
From August 2025 to February 2026, IVIY will deliver six free community workshops, launch a scholarship program, and form at least two school or library partnerships. These activities build immigrant youth confidence and belonging through culturally responsive programming, skill-building, mentorship, and subsidized access to extracurricular activities.
Project Impact
IVIY aims to reach 100–200 immigrant youth in Calgary through free, inclusive workshops, mentorship, and subsidized access to extracurricular activities that reduce isolation and build confidence. By promoting cultural pride and connection, we foster belonging. Impact will be measured through feedback, retention, and partnerships with schools, libraries, and community organizations.
Project Mission
Rooted in lived experience, IVIY exists to uplift immigrant youth by creating spaces where they feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Our mission is to break down barriers to connection, growth, and joy through youth-led, culturally grounded programming, with the long-term goal of building a more inclusive, empowering Calgary for newcomer communities.
