Sodashi: Weaving the Tapestry of South Asian Culture will spotlight South Asian fashion designers, musical performers, and local entrepreneurs, with guests from across Ontario—including students, creatives, and community leaders. The event will feature a formal program of a cultural showcase where local South Asian fashion designers will present and speak to their work, interspersed with local South Asian dance and music-based performances, which will then be followed by a community bazaar led by local South Asian entrepreneurs and organizations.

How the project works
Sodashi will feature a South Asian cultural showcase and community bazaar. The cultural showcase will feature a fashion show and musical performances and the community bazaar intends to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy throughout Toronto’s South Asian community diasporas.
Project Impact
This multifaceted event aims to shine a spotlight on local South Asian fashion artistry and associated art forms, celebrate our diverse collection of cultural identities located within the South Asian community, and highlight youth leadership and creativity in the industry. The project aims to significantly increase knowledge and appreciation of South Asian cultural heritage.
Project Mission
By highlighting the vibrancy of South Asian culture through art and fashion, "Sodashi: Weaving the Tapestry of South Asian Culture" addresses gaps in cultural representation, civic engagement, and social inclusion. For BCC, this event provides the ideal opportunity to work towards our mission of vocalizing, amplifying, and equipping the lived experiences and capabilities of Brown youth.
