I’m Alamdar Abidi, a community leader passionate about creating opportunities for youth who come from under-resourced backgrounds like I did. I founded an annual Back-to-School Haircut Drive that provides kids with fresh haircuts, school supplies, and confidence to start the year strong. With a background in hairstyling and mentorship, I use my skills to uplift others and bring joy to my community. I’ve won awards at national barber expos and believe that real leadership starts with serving people. Whether it’s through events or everyday conversations, I strive to inspire discipline, self-worth, and growth in the next generation

I’m Alamdar Abidi, a passionate youth leader focused on creating access and confidence for underserved communities. I founded a Back-to-School Haircut Drive that gives free haircuts, backpacks, and school supplies to kids, helping them start the year proud and prepared. As a hairstylist with award-winning experience and deep roots in my community, I use my skills to empower and uplift. My drive comes from not having these opportunities growing up—I now create them for others. I believe leadership is about service, and I’m building scalable projects that support youth all year round. With this fellowship, I aim to expand my reach and continue investing in the next generation.

How the project works
We host an annual Back-to-School Haircut Drive offering free haircuts, school supplies, and backpacks to kids. With the grant, we’ll donate equipment to a nonprofit and collaborate on youth events throughout the year, keeping the impact consistent beyond just one day.
