Marine Coeurdassier

Marine is a proud artist from Tio'tia:ke (aka Montreal) of Thai and French descent. She is immersed in event and project management, particularly in cultural and community circles. Interested in the promotion and democratization of art and culture, she holds a bachelor's degree in cultural action from UQÀM, and firmly believes that art has the power to bring about and initiate social change. She's an activist by day, a street dancer by night! Marine has been involved in the Montreal street dance scene since 2015. Every year, she plans unifying community events, including Vis ta Danse, Quebec Dance Marathon, and now RCA Events competitions.

Call Them Out - street dance competitions Arts et culture

Call Them Out is a series of 3 street dance competitions (2 vs. 2) featuring krump, hip hop, break, popping and freestyle battles. Each team must be made up of 2 dancers at least 7 years apart, to form an intergenerational team. This is a "call out" format in which teams choose who they want to compete against in a "freestyle" duel.

Project Impact

The project will enable the public to discover hip-hop culture, expand the dancers' network of contacts and improve their dance skills. In addition, the project will help break social isolation, increase the sense of belonging and self-esteem in a safe, non-judgmental space, strengthen the community and democratize art and culture.

Project Mission

Our mission is to encourage, develop and promote up-and-coming street dancers in Montreal. The project will increase the visibility of up-and-coming street dancers and the various styles of street dance. The project aims to strengthen the social, multicultural and intergenerational roots of Montreal's Côte-des-Neiges borough through community events this summer.
