Mael Pelletier
MaelSir has been slamming for over a decade, from Toronto to Moncton, via Paris and Brussels. Inspired by rap, his rhythmic, musical lyrics often reflect the wonder and abundance he's eager to celebrate. In 2021, MaelSir was also a finalist in the Quebec slam league, the "Délie ta langue" inter-university slam competition and winner, for the second year running, of the Slam d'École competition, organized by the Quebec-France network. His first foray into cinema came in 2022, with "Slambahia", a finalist in the Course des régions, a Canada-wide short-film competition. In 2023, he was a finalist for the Prix du Langage Audrey Wearn and recipient of the Programme Engagement (Fond de Recherche du Québec).

How the project works
Between now and June 30, when the 3rd edition will take place from 7pm, I will continue the search for funding. By June, I'll have recruited all the participants, then promoted the event throughout June. In mid-October 2023, the 4th edition will take place.
Project Impact
Slamavoix raises the region's profile with media coverage of events and strengthens the local cultural network.
Project Mission
Professionalize slam artists, create a new cultural offering in the region and give the community a chance to forge links.
Project Team
My father, Jimmy Pelletier, helps me in many ways, but mainly by hosting the event at his home.
