Loïka Beauvil

I am a young community leader passionate about the representation of racialized women in the media. My goal is not only for them to be seen and acknowledged, but also to inspire other women to claim their place in their own way. Through my projects, I work to create spaces where their voices can resonate freely and fully.

This project is a community-based digital platform that highlights the journeys, achievements, and voices of racialized women in Montreal’s cultural and media landscape. It aims to amplify their visibility, contribute to a more equitable cultural environment, and build a community where women feel represented.

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      Our work involves creating content with diverse women who are active in Montreal’s media scene and using that content to build a website.

      Project Impact

      This project spotlights the journeys of racialized women in Montreal’s cultural scene. By sharing their voices and accomplishments, it helps build fairer representation and creates space for these women to claim their place in the media. It doesn’t just raise their visibility. It also gives the public, especially other women who see themselves in these stories, a real source of inspiration.

      Project Mission

      The project aims to address the lack of visibility of racialized women in Montreal’s cultural and media landscape. The website, developed in collaboration with a web agency, is set to launch by the end of 2025. Social media will also be used to increase the project’s reach.

      Project Team

      I’ll be working with volunteers who, like me, are part of Cultur’elles to create the content. I’ll also be partnering with a web designer to build the website.
