Peace Packs
Peace Packs is a nationwide care package initiative dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and mental health challenges by providing thoughtfully curated packages filled with comfort, wellness, and accessibility-focused items. We partner with hospitals, advocacy organizations, and university clubs to expand our reach and ensure that individuals facing health challenges feel seen, supported, and empowered. Through direct donations to hospitals such as BC Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and other healthcare institutions across Canada, as well as mail and in-person delivery to individuals in need, Peace Packs delivers tangible care and a message of solidarity. Our work is deeply rooted in collaboration, working alongside student-led organizations such as Queen's University's Dan School of Drama and Music, the Queen's Disability and Neurodiversity Alliance, and the Queen's Rheumatic Disease Club, as well as national advocacy organizations like Cassie + Friends. These partnerships allow for the creation of highly personalized care packages that meet the unique needs of different communities, ensuring that recipients receive items that contribute to their comfort, mental well-being, and accessibility. The project embodies the belief that small acts of care can create significant change and that no one should have to navigate chronic illness or disability alone.

How the project works
Peace Packs operates through a multi-faceted approach that ensures individuals across Canada receive the support they need in ways that are both accessible and meaningful. The project provides care packages to individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and mental health challenges through a request-based system, allowing recipients to receive personalized packages tailored to their specific needs. These packages are delivered either by mail or through in-person drop-offs, ensuring that those facing health challenges receive items that contribute to their comfort and well-being. In addition to direct-to-individual support, Peace Packs partners with hospitals and healthcare organizations to distribute care packages in medical settings. BC Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and other healthcare institutions receive bulk donations of care packages, which are then provided to patients and families navigating long hospital stays. This effort not only supports individuals undergoing treatment but also helps alleviate some of the stress faced by caregivers. The initiative also works closely with student-led groups, advocacy organizations, and health networks to raise awareness of chronic illness, disability rights, and the need for greater accessibility. By collaborating with Queen’s University’s Dan School of Drama and Music, the Queen’s Disability and Neurodiversity Alliance, and the Queen’s Rheumatic Disease Club, Peace Packs fosters a sense of community and shared advocacy among students and young professionals. These collaborations help expand the project’s reach and ensure that it remains a sustainable and impactful initiative.
Project Impact
Since its launch, Peace Packs has had a significant impact on individuals and communities across Canada. The initiative has provided relief and emotional support to countless individuals facing health challenges, demonstrating the power of small acts of kindness in creating systemic change. The delivery of care packages has brought comfort to patients in hospitals, offering them a sense of connection and encouragement during difficult times. Beyond the immediate impact of the care packages, the project has also helped build a strong and supportive network where individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities feel heard, understood, and valued. Many recipients have expressed that receiving a Peace Pack made them feel less alone in their journey, reinforcing the importance of community-driven support. The initiative has also played a crucial role in advocating for improved accessibility and disability inclusion in schools, hospitals, and workplaces, ensuring that marginalized communities receive the accommodations they deserve. Through strategic collaborations with hospitals, universities, and advocacy groups, Peace Packs has been able to expand its reach and deepen its impact. By working alongside key stakeholders, the project has strengthened its ability to support individuals in need and create lasting change. The initiative continues to grow, with plans to reach even more communities and advocate for greater systemic improvements in healthcare and accessibility.
Project Mission
At its core, Peace Packs is dedicated to bridging the gap between care and community, ensuring that no one facing chronic illness, disability, or mental health challenges ever feels alone. The project exists to deliver tangible support, amplify marginalized voices, and create lasting systemic change in how Canadian institutions address disability and accessibility. By providing personalized care packages, advocating for greater inclusion, and fostering a network of support, Peace Packs is reshaping the way society views and supports individuals with chronic health conditions. The mission of Peace Packs is not only to provide comfort to those in need but also to challenge the barriers that prevent individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses from accessing the resources they deserve. Through care, connection, and advocacy, Peace Packs is leading a movement that emphasizes the importance of accessibility, compassion, and collective action. As the project continues to grow, it will remain dedicated to ensuring that every individual, regardless of their health challenges, feels supported, empowered, and valued within their community.
