Lauren Cogan

Cogie (they/them) is a 5th year Animal Ethics student at Huron University, where they serve as President of Huron Protection of Animal Welfare Society. They have represented animal welfare and climate action organizations at the United Nations on multiple occasions.

HPAWS purpose is to bring animal welfare concerns into the forefront of student’s minds, ultimately creating a shift in consciousness, fostering leaders who act humanely.

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      HPAWS will offer a variety of programing from social events, animal protection organization visits, to volunteer opportunities during the school year.

      Project Impact

      HPAWS intends to engage at least 40 students in events over the school year and build partnerships with animal welfare organizations in London.

      Project Mission

      HPAWS’s mission is to guide Huron students in being more humane towards animals in their everyday lives and careers.

      HPAWS in comprised for six executive team members including VP Finance, Co-VP Communications, Co-VP Events, and a Preisdent
