Kylie Cole
As an aspiring community leader, I am passionate about creating equitable educational opportunities for all students. I co-founded MAP to empower individuals by fostering personal growth and academic success. This work is driven by my own experiences of feeling lost and unsure of how to navigate the complexities of school and life. Knowing how isolating that can be, I strive to support students who feel the same. I believe in the power of mentorship, community engagement, and creative expression to inspire confidence and resilience, guiding young people through their educational AND personal journeys with purpose and determination. My goal is to make a lasting impact on students’ lives and contribute positively to the broader educational community.
Bridging the Gap: A Fundraising Gala for Educational Equity (BTGG)
Bridging the Gap: A Fundraising Gala for Educational Equity is an event hosted by MAP to address the challenges students face in transitioning from high school to university. This gala aims to raise awareness about educational inequities and foster solutions by bringing together university students, professors, graduate students, and community leaders. Through inspiring talks, networking opportunities, and collaborative activities, the event seeks to create a supportive community dedicated to empowering students and ensuring their success in higher education.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
The BTGG, scheduled for November 8th, will feature keynote speakers, networking sessions, and interactive activities. The event aims to raise awareness of educational inequities, generate funds for MAP's sustainability, and foster partnerships. Key activities include ticket sales, a raffle, engagement activities with local volunteer organizations, and dinner provided by a local caterer to support Halifax students.
Project Impact
The BTGG will amplify awareness of educational inequities, contribute funds for MAP’s free mentorship programs, and foster new partnerships to enhance educational support. By uniting students, educators, and community leaders, the event will drive meaningful discussions and actions towards a more equitable educational system, positively impacting students' academic and personal growth.
Project Mission
The mission of the BTGG is to highlight educational inequities and support MAP's initiatives by raising awareness, securing funds, and building partnerships. Our goals are to increase understanding of these challenges, raise funds for ongoing support, and forge new connections to sustain MAP’s impact on Halifax students' educational journeys.
