His recent activity includes fundraising to set up a makerspace in the Dworzak neighbourhood of Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Frugal Radio Education
Our project, Frugal Radio, is a 24/7 community online radio station broadcasting live from Regent Park to the world. Frugal Radio's mission is to uplift and amplify the voices of aspiring broadcasters from underrepresented communities through education, workshops, and mentorship. In partnership with various community organizations, we provided a wide range of programming to connect with and serve our audience. The Frugal Radio programming activities were designed to help build a sense of community, offer valuable information, and provide entertainment tailored to the interests and needs of our local audience.

How the project works
Frugal Radio utilized a user-friendly online platform to create and broadcast to listeners. Our platform provided a seamless streaming and hosting services, ensuring reliable and high-quality broadcasts. Users uploaded audio content, created playlists, scheduled broadcasts, and customized Frugal Radio's branding, allowing us to reach and connect with our audiences effectively. Our programs included: Local Music Spotlight, Community News, Interview Segments, Educational Programs, Cultural Shows, Wellness and Mental Health Advice, Sports Coverage, Local Business Features, Listener-Requested Music Hours, Podcasting and On-Demand Content.
Project Impact
Launching and running Frugal Radio has been a significant achievement for us. It allowed us to connect with our audience and create impactful content. Our student-led team, especially Ria, has been crucial to our success. These achievements represent the realization of Frugal Radio’s mission and its promising future. Our monthly total listeners grew from 160 to 180, with an average time of 08:01:44, and the top region was Canada. We were able to establish and strengthen key strategic partnerships this past November. Among these, we partnered with Wanasah to produce weekly shows, expanding and diversifying our reach, cross-promotion, and multiplying impact. Our team provided music and media coverage for Patrica’s REVIVE MARKET launch at the SLC. We also partnered with Visions of Science to amplify their mission through audio and video content development.
