About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

  • At risk youth & children
  • Vulnerable individuals (e.g. those experiencing addiction, abuse)

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

  • SDG 3: Good health and Well-being
  • SDG 16: Peace, justice, and strong institutions

How the project works

Trace simplified the process of evidence collection to support survivors of domestic violence. The app was designed specifically for this purpose. This versatile tool, compatible with any smartphone, will empower individuals by providing them with a user-friendly means to collect evidence and access support. The potential impact of this app is in aiding survivors and contributing to the fight against domestic violence.

Project Impact

Trace has had a meaningful impact, resonating with 92% of survey participants who expressed a concern about the topic of domestic violence. Astonishingly, 42% shared that someone within their circles has experienced domestic violence, underlining the pervasive nature of the issue. Furthermore, a significant 35% disclosed that they themselves have been victims of domestic violence. These statistics underscore the pressing need for effective solutions. The creation of the app, designed for both Android and iOS devices, provides a scalable tool with the potential to reach an extensive audience. Its accessibility on mobile devices positions it to make a difference in the lives of countless individuals, offering support and empowerment to those grappling with the harsh realities of domestic violence.

Project Mission

Trace's mission is to streamline the evidence-collection process, reducing the stress of reporting domestic violence. We aspire to develop a tool that empowers survivors, fostering confidence and facilitating access to support.
