Canadian Youth for Youth Empowerment (CYYE) Social Justice
Canadian Youth for Youth Empowerment is a by-youth, for-youth initiative dedicated to engaging young people in social justice through education. We seek to support understanding of social issues by producing informative, high-quality content that explains current social issues in a way that is accessible for, and pertains specifically to, youth in Canada. We also provide opportunities for young people to become involved in, or learn about social issues in new ways, such as through seminars, workshops, book clubs, and more. CYYE undertook a second edition of our summer youth leadership initiative with the Sprout Fellowship's support, and we worked to develop expansion projects which we will be adding to the operations of CYYE in the near future.

How the project works
CYYE's activities took place entirely online, and we are volunteer-run by young people from across Canada. We primarily developed articles, social media content, and other resources to be shared on our social media accounts and website, though we also ran programs and manage offshoot projects to support learning through different mediums.
Project Impact
We were able to engage 40 young people in our summer program, and reached many more through our other volunteering offerings and social media. Additionally, we have set ourselves up to reach many more young people in the coming months and years as a result of the support we received from the Sprout Fellowship, and skills we have honed.
Project Mission
CYYE's mission is to provide high-quality, relevant information about pressing social issues and current events in a manner that is accessible to young people, through a Canadian lens. We also seek to provide opportunities for young people in Canada to take action on addressing these social issues, and learn about them in different ways, via our projects and programs.
