Inaam Chattha
My name is Inaam Chattha and I currently reside on the traditional territories of Haudenosaunee people, known as Toronto. Throughout my life, I have worn several hats: from a student entrepreneur to a passionate climate activist. My lived experiences as an immigrant to rural Canada drive my work, which centres on amplifying the voices of marginalized communities in both climate activism and public health. Over the last 8 years, I have been a strong advocate for water conservation, particularly in raising awareness about the deteriorating quality of Hamilton Harbour. My work has been recognized by organisations like Oceanwise Canada and Starfish Canada, naming me one of Canada's Top 25 Under 25 Environmentalists. Currently, my activism work focuses on understanding and improving access to mental health support for Canadians, especially for youth dealing with climate anxiety. As the founder and president of Green Mind, I am dedicated to empowering youth in Canada with hope and optimism about environmentalism. Through my work, I hope to transcend diverse cultural, linguistic, and societal backgrounds and unite individuals to work together in protecting the natural world for the benefit of all.
