Heeva Torabi
Heeva Torabi is a Health Science student at the University of Ottawa in the French Immersion stream. Heeva first started her project, Learn2Lead, in grade 10. She realized students who had access to opportunities were more confident in applying themselves to try new things and unlocking their full potential. Since entering university, Heeva’s curiosity for exploring real-world challenges has grown. She prioritizes taking time for reflection, and has elevated her project to encourage others to do the same. From this, she hopes to provide youth a space to cultivate their thoughts and use them towards tackling the issues that matter to them the most.
Learn2Lead
Learn2Lead educates youth on daunting global challenges in an accessible way to maximize the action done in addressing them. Members are tasked with writing reflections on short publications using guided prompts and journaling kits provided free of charge. Their findings are then compiled at workshops centered on the theme of the online posts from that month. They include seminars, speakers, fellowship activities, and service blocks that piece together their reflections to plan a course of action confronting real world problems.

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
Learn2Lead posts online minute-read articles concerning healthcare issues in leading up to in-person workshops for high school students. The workshops intend to provide students the opportunity to reflect upon their ideas, and broaden their perspective on the field of healthcare as they navigate planning their career paths.
Project Impact
Project Mission
In today’s fast-tracked world, it can be difficult to take a step back and simply recognize ourselves and the growing problems around us. Learn2Lead aims to help students build a relationship with themselves and their peers to come together, and build change as the next generation of leaders in healthcare.
