I believe in inspiring students to gain knowledge that empowers them to make informed decisions, which are crucial for societal progress. Through my work in promoting environmental sustainability, I hope to educate youth on environmental protection, from reducing waste to understanding climate change. My goal is to foster a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship, inspiring youth to take meaningful action toward a sustainable future.
Increasing student awareness about environmental sustainability
Increasing student awareness about environmental sustainability aims to inform students about local environmental issues and encourage youth to take initiative towards environmental protection. The ultimate goal is for youth to critically think about why environmental issues are challenging to address, the roles played by different actors in society and ways students can learn more about the environment and contribute to environmental sustainability.

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
Several graduate students in environmental science will deliver presentations to youth at schools and after school programs about environmental sustainability. Graduate students will communicate with school administrators and discuss methods to deliver presentations to maximize learning.
Project Impact
Equipping youth with knowledge to make informed decisions for the environment; encourage innovative problem solving for solutions; teaching a global perspective can show students disproportionate impact environmental degradation has on some communities and inspire students to learn more about better practices
Project Mission
For youth to understand significance of environmental sustainability and the role they play in environmental protection. Goals: deliver presentations to at least 10 schools before November 10, 2024; receive positive feedback from school administrators; increase students participation in environmental related school events
