About this Project
Communities Served
My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
Our first step will be to organize a physiotherapist led pelvic floor and somatic release focused yoga and pilates session for 20 participants in February 2026, securing a venue and partnerships by January 2026. Our second step will be to deliver a creativity based workshop centered in sex and relationships for women and gender diverse people of colour in March 2026, partnering with a racialized psychotherapist. Our final step will be to coordinate and deliver a community sexual health clinic in collaboration with Call Auntie in April 2026.
Project Impact
We intend to address the shame and stigma that pervades women and gender diverse people of colour around sexual and reproductive health and wellness. We are looking to connect the community to culturally-relevant services and resources. We intend to impact our community by building their knowledge base, self-esteem and resource them in their care journeys.
Project Mission
Our mission is to reduce shame and stigma around sexual and reproductive wellness amongst women and gender diverse people of colour, by offering mindful, culturally-sensitive gatherings and a clinic.
