Echo Tingxuan Jiang

Echo is an intersectional feminist and young leader passionate about social justice. Her areas of interest include gender equality, migrant rights, and public health. Since a young age, Echo has been drawn to standing in front of a crowd to raise awareness about important issues. When she moved alone to Quebec at the age of 15 to fulfill her dream of learning French, Echo became a trailblazing young leader. She has worked in various social service agencies and led multiple student initiatives in Montreal. Her commitment to advocating for feminist issues on a global level has also led her to attend international conferences such as OIDP21in Grenoble and UNCSW67 in New York.

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

My initiative seeks to provide crucial support to women in need of psychosocial accompaniment and to provide space for women to connect with one another. Through individual accompaniment and community events, I hope to create a more connected Chinese women community in Montreal.

      Project Impact

I envision Écho Sisters continuing beyond the fellowship year and becoming a vital resource for Chinese women in Montreal I plan to recruit volunteers to help manage and sustain the project, while seeking additional funding to ensure its long-term growth. I also plan to collaborate with community organizations to develop informational guides on accessing services related to intimate partner violence, women’s sexual and reproductive health, and mental health services, which will be made available online. Within the next three to five years, I aim to transform Écho Sisters into a registered non-profit organization and expand its services nationally.
