Dee Carr

Dee Carr is a rural New Brunswick youth passionate about the powerful intersection of art and nature as a tool for environmental advocacy. Inspired by her surroundings and a deep-rooted love for creative expression, Dee believes storytelling and visual art can spark connection and change. Through her work, Dee aims to create space for rural voices, foster community, and inspire a new generation of artist-advocates.

Dee is continuing the legacy of her older sister, a former Sprout Fellow, by leading the Bell Tent Orchard Creators Collective - a growing initiative that empowers youth to explore environmental issues through art.

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      Over summer 2025, youth will gather at Bell Tent Orchard for creative workshops exploring environmental themes. Their work will be showcased at five community events, fostering visibility and advocacy. The project includes hands-on art sessions, mentorship, and opportunities for youth to lead through the Creators Collective initiative.

      The project empowers rural youth to use art as a tool for environmental advocacy, building confidence, leadership, and creative skills. By showcasing their work in public spaces, it amplifies youth voices, fosters community pride, and encourages dialogue around sustainability and local environmental issues through a lens that is accessible, emotional, and inspiring.
