I’m a young community leader from Ottawa focused on creating spaces where youth feel supported, challenged, and connected. Through founding MYBL (Muslim Youth Basketball League), I’ve worked to combine sports, mentorship, and community-building in a way that gives young people positive environments to grow in both on and off the court.

MYBL (Muslim Youth Basketball League) is a youth-led community initiative in Ottawa that uses basketball to create mentorship, brotherhood, and positive opportunities for Muslim youth. The program combines organized sports with leadership development, teamwork, and community engagement in a faith-conscious environment.

How the project works
MYBL runs youth basketball leagues, tournaments, mentorship sessions, and community events throughout Summer 2026 in Ottawa. Weekly programming combines competitive basketball with leadership development, Islamic values, teamwork, and positive mentorship for high school youth.
Project Impact
MYBL creates a safe, structured environment where youth build confidence, discipline, friendships, and leadership skills through sports. The program encourages positive mentorship, strengthens community connections, and gives young people meaningful opportunities to stay active, engaged, and supported.

MYBL’s mission is to empower Muslim youth through basketball, mentorship, and community-building. The program aims to create positive spaces that encourage leadership, brotherhood, personal growth, and healthy lifestyles while helping youth develop confidence on and off the court.
