Dear Future YEG: Summer Series
Dear Future YEG: Summer Series is a 3-part project in which youth in Edmonton are invited to participate in "Walking Club" where we explore accessible and walkable trails in the city, "Too Tired & Two Tired" a social networking event at an indoor cycling studio and a personal hygiene kit making event, and a cooking class night in which participants will learn how to prepare meals safely and easily.
About this Project
Communities Served
My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
From June to August, the Summer Series will host a "Walking Club", a cycling network event called "Too Tired & Two Tired, and a cooking class.
Project Impact
This project serves to intersect community building and lowering the barriers to civic participation through accessible walking trails, access to hygiene products, and empowering those through cooking and preparation.
Project Mission
This project strives to support an Edmonton that is youth-centered and diverse. Through the "Walking Club", we strive to bring awareness to trails in the city that are accessible for those using mobility aids, "Too Tired & Two Tired" is a cycling class and a hygiene kit making event, and the cooking classes help to teach basic cooking and preparation skills.
Project Team
Today, Dear Future YEG is rooted in building an inclusive and accessible community of young changemakers. We empower youth aged 16–35 in Edmonton to grow personally and professionally through meaningful community engagement, while creating space for advocacy and action at both local and global levels.
